Trying something new!

I sat down yesterday and started a blog post about what I did on Saturday. I then realized all of my pictures are on my Blackberry, and I am still looking for my cord! I will get back to that very soon.

For now, I am going to try something new!! (to me, anyway!) It's called Post it Note Tuesday, hosted by Supah Mommy.

Okay, okay, too much info, but I feel better! Love that little stinker, she is the best! Even better, it looks like she'll be daytime trained by her 2nd birthday on April 29th. Woot! I couldn't say the above TO her, because I am VERY fortunate she is so gung ho about using the potty right now. Way ahead of her brothers at this point in the potty training stage. They were all almost or actually 3.

That's all for now, when I find my cord to upload my pictures, I will tell you all about my awesome Saturday fun with my 2 oldest boys.

My Tester Pattern Experience

About a week ago, over at Nancy's Couture, I offered to test a pattern that she has written. I was chosen to give it a shot. I just had to sew it up, fill out a questionnaire, and take a picture of the Miss. Thang in the dress. Sounds like fun to me! I had been wanting to sew up some summery goods for the Miss.Thang's summer wardrobe, and this little shirt was SO CUTE!!!

First off, I printed out the pattern/tutorial that was sent to me. I then went through my fabric stash to decide when coordinates I wanted to use......that was tough!

This is the machine that I sewed this shirt on. It is a Singer 5528, from the early 1980's, and it has an all metal body, and is a real workhorse! I love this machine. When I first started sewing about a year ago, I bought a Singer Simple. Every time I sit down with that machine, something goes wrong. Thread breaks, needle jams, you name it, it happens. Very frustrating. A dear friend gave me the older Singer, and I am in love!

Anyway, here is the machine I sewed this shirt on:

This is what happens when you have an almost 2 and 3 year olds wanting your attention when you are trying to sew. Plus, I forgot to change the thread from the white to a green. Honestly, I cannot believe I made this mistake. I must have been seriously losing it, that isn't exacting stitching in the ditch! ha! Out came the seam ripper, and boy, was that fun! (not)

Finally, after ripping out the seam, things calmed down a bit, and I was able to finish up.

That was so much fun to sew up, and the pattern was very easy to read! Thanks, Nancy, for letting me try out your pattern! I cannot wait to see what you come up with next!

This is my second attempt at blogging. I could never get into the groove. I know now that I want to blog about being a mama to 4,crafting, sewing, all those cool things. I spend time every day at others' awesome crafting blogs, and by golly, I want one of my own.

By the way, I am MB! Nice to meet you! I have a husband, and my husband and I have created 4 awesome offspring. We have 3 princes, and the youngest is FINALLY a princess! Ages are 9, 6, 3, and almost 2.

Princes number 1 and 2...yeah, they are pretty darn cool! Just got out of a movie, How to Train your Dragon, to be exact.
